I started working on a Cararama A60 today, and was quite surprised by the number of differences against the Vanguards version, especially as the main body is exactly the same casting.
The Cararama version has a competely different baseplate set, with no hidden screws, and when removed the axles are held in just by being 'sandwiched' between the baseplate and plastic interior.
The lights have also been modified, both front and rear. The fronts come out much easier, no more prising the jewel headlight from the mounting!
Has anyone else found many differences? I'll try the P4 tomorrow, again a Cararama version from an original Vangaurds casting

i agree, the cararama version is very nice, but when it comes down to the little details, vangaurds is the winner everytime!

I finished off the preparation of the A60 today. I really wanted to keep the interior as a single solid piece so that the axles were still firmly held in place when re-assembled, so I dremelled away the rear parcel shelf, back of the rear seats and the passenger seat. Because the interior is black, you don't see what is left of the rear seats when the car is back in one piece. Then fitted the H-Frame in place. This method was a 1st for me, as I usually bond the H-Frame to the model roof, but in this case I bonded to the interior as I wanted to keep everything a decent fit. I think it worked pretty well and looks good when all back in position. I also wanted to keep the door panels, as I think it improves the final look when the bodyshell is back on, which gives the inside a better looking finish. ...and finally, all re-assembled and mounted back on its plinth. bodywork modifications include cut front wings, cut front bumper, door plates & bonnet triangles, headlight chrome cowlings removed etc. Any comments welcomed.
